Retiree Medical Benefits Comparison

The numbers tell the story on this issue. CRONA’s proposal would improve retiree medical benefits so that Nurses are set up to receive the health care we need after retirement. Meanwhile, Stanford and Packard’s proposal does not and is not a competitive offer compared to what other hospitals offer.

Here’s a comparison of CRONA’s proposal compared to the hospitals’:

  • What we proposed: The Group D lump sum retiree medical benefit would be significantly increased at every level by at least 75% and up to 495% compared to the current benefit. Qualification for this benefit would be changed to only depend on years of service at retirement, and not your age.
  • What they proposed: The Group D lump sum retiree medical benefit would only increase by 50% and continue to depend on both your years of service at retirement as well as your age.
